🎭 Measure twice, cut once. That’s been my guiding principle as I work on costumes for my son’s school play. I’m taking extra care to measure (and remeasure!) every piece of fabric before making the first cut because I want these costumes to fit just right.

This process reminds me of the care we’re called to take with God’s Word. In 2 Timothy 2:15, Paul urged Timothy to rightly handle the Word of Truth—studying it deeply, teaching it accurately, and avoiding distractions like irreverent babble.

Okay, so this is actually footage of my experience at Tower Bridge in London, but it feels exactly the same as I feel right now starting a podcast: I’m terrified!

Stepping out in faith and obedience isn’t always easy. Sometimes, it’s the fear of failure that holds us back, or perfectionism whispering, “Wait until you know you can get it right.”

But God isn’t calling us to be perfect. He’s calling us to trust Him, to step out in faith, even when we’re scared and even when we don’t feel ready. When we step out in faith, we may not have it all figured out, but He will meet us right where we are and lead us forward.

If you’re struggling with fear or feeling the weight of needing to “get it right,” you’re not alone.

Let’s take a deep breath together, release the burden of perfection, and just take that next step in obedience. He’s got us!
